Producers from the western part of the upper Val Venosta/Vinschgau region and from elsewhere in South Tyrol, as well as from Germany, Austria and Switzerland gather beneath the arcades of Glorenza. The stalls offer typical Christmas treats from biscuits to Zelten (fruit bread) as well as toys made of wood, candles and other seasonal gifts made by local craftsmen. Christmas carol and seasonal music concerts will take place from time to time to enhance the atmosphere. Historically Glorenza/Glurns enjoys the official status of town in spite of having only 882 inhabitants. Its medieval centre enclosed by a perfectly intact ring wall provides the settings for the town’s quaint Christmas market (Glurnser Advent).
